How many times have you opened your camera app to film, then closed it? Written a caption, then deleted it? Planned content you never posted?
Those moments hesitating to post, cringing over:
Your hair not looking right
Being unable to articulate a point
How cheap your production feels compared to other creators
Most creators quit because they hit this phase where everything just feels awkward.
Nothing looks or sounds how they want, and posting is an emotional rollercoaster of embarrassment, excitement then some more embarrassment.
Good news? Every creator goes through this cringe-phase.
Bad news?
There's no way around it. Only through.
When I first started, and even when I look at other creators…everyone goes through a phase where they’re just… off.
Even the best creators went through it. Take MrBeast. Go watch his early videos, completely different from what you see now.
They weren’t polished, but he kept going.
You’re not behind, you’re just in the skill acquisition phase every other successful creator went through.

If you want to get through this phase faster, stop trying to fix how you feel. Start building reps.
Here’s the simplest system I’ve seen work:
Record → Don’t judge
Your job is to finish the video, not critique it mid-way.
Post → Even if it feels off
If it feels a little awkward, that’s normal. Post anyway.
Repeat → Daily or as often as possible
You don’t improve from one video.
You improve from volume.
When you first learn how to walk and you fall, you just get back up. You don’t overthink it.
Why does that change when we get older?
Sometimes you just need to put in the reps, and this is definitely one of those.
The cringe instinct is your brain is trying to protect you from embarrassment.
Ignore it.
Because that discomfort is exactly where improvement happens..
If you know you’re willing to push through it though, and you read my newsletter because you want every advantage in your corner, then you might also be interested in Film and Flow Premium.
For the last few weeks, my team and I have been going down the rabbit hole analysing which short form content is currently stopping millions of people mid-scroll, then delivering a breakdown of hooks, ideas, formats etc. directly to your inbox so you can understand why each one is trending, then know how to adapt the ideas for your audience.
Members also get access to my full resource vault which includes LUTs, overlays, my Cinematic Transitions Mini-Course and access to custom feedback.
Also worth knowing: You could see a price increase soon. Not just to reflect the value I know we’re bringing, but also because there are tangible data retrieval and analysis costs involved, then not to mention the considerable time and care we put into making it consumable and actionable for you.
Since this format is new, we’re shipping improvements every week (read each Sunday Edition of this newsletter the last month to see for yourself), meaning that the exact look and feel will likely change, but only for your benefit.
For context, some websites charge around $30 for a single report on trending content. Aside from being overpriced, raw data with no interpretation gives you little to work with.
But Film and Flow Premium members can get the weekly perspective of someone who is actually currently growing their account (394k followers in two years) for less than 50 cents a day (for now).
All that to say, if you’ve been on the fence about joining, now is the best time.
