Hey friends,
There’s a moment most people don’t talk about.
It’s not the excitement at the beginning. And it’s not the payoff at the end.
It’s that quiet middle stretch, where you’re showing up, posting, trying…
and nothing obvious is happening yet.
Just effort going out and silence coming back.
That’s usually where doubt creeps in.
You start wondering if you picked the wrong niche. If you’re wasting time or if other people have something you don’t.
I’ve been there.
More times than I’d like to admit.
And what I eventually realized was this:
most people don’t fail because they’re bad at creating.
They fail because they don’t give their work enough time to reveal itself.
The mistake I kept making early on
Early on, I treated content like a daily test.
I would post something and check the numbers. I’d decide how I felt about myself based on the result.
If a post did well, I felt hopeful.
If it didn’t, I questioned everything.
That cycle is exhausting.
What changed wasn’t a new trick or a better hook.
It was my timeline.
I stopped asking, “Is this working today?”
and started asking, “What happens if I stay here for 90 days?”
That question softened everything.
Why 90 days changes the way you think
30 days is barely enough time for patterns to show up, let alone confidence.
The first month is noisy, when you’re still finding your voice.
The platform is still figuring out who to show your content to.
Judging yourself there is like quitting a book after the first chapter.
90 days is a window where:
repetition builds clarity
data replaces emotion
effort starts compounding quietly
You stop reacting to every post and start noticing trends instead.
That’s when the work feels steadier.
What I’d tell you if you’re in that middle right now
If things feel slow, it usually means you’re early.
Early in the reps.
Early in the data.
Early in the clarity.
Instead of asking whether this is “working,” try asking:
Am I showing up consistently?
Am I giving this enough time to teach me something?
Am I judging too soon?
Those questions change how the journey feels.
One thing to try this week
Just this:
Pick a 90-day window
Decide what “showing up” looks like for you
Promise yourself you won’t evaluate outcomes too early
Let patterns, not emotions, guide your next move
If you want, reply and tell me where you’re at in your own 90-day stretch.
I read those.
You’re building and building always looks quiet before it looks obvious.
Give your work time.
Talk soon,
– Kien
